Batam Dirt Bike Adventure
An hour on the ferry from Singapore, and the tarmac runs out. Batam is the closest thing Singapore has to an off-road backyard: red dirt, palm plantations, and a rented dirt bike that fully expects to be dropped. A weekend here resets the head better than holidays twice the length.
How It Went
I've done this twice now, in 2024 and again in July 2025, and the formula held both times: patient guides, honest bikes, and mud in places I didn't know riding gear had. By mid-morning your arms ache, your boots weigh double, and you're grinning inside your helmet like an idiot.
